“Unto you, O Lord do I lift up my soul.” Why do I lift my soul to You moment by moment? My soul needs refining! As I give my mind, my will and emotions to You, O Lord, I acknowledge that it is You Who will bring any areas of flesh (my way of doing what I want, when and how I want) into alignment with my spirit which is One with You, Jesus. I will then be able to stop trying to figure out what, when and how to live my life, especially the next steps in this journey. You are not going to judge my sin, Lord. You did that 2000 years ago on the cross. It seems that I have so many selfish, fleshly moments in my weakness these days. I’m finding that You simply want me to live free in the work You accomplished on the cross for me—which is LIFE, Your LIFE, free of condemnation! How wonderful! It’s simple, but not easy, right, Lord? The simple part is that You are there waiting to live Your life through me. The “not easy” part is for me to surrender why, when, how and what’s next! When will I open my heart fully and freely to Your love? I give all that concerns me to Your loving care. I don’t mean to be in a tussle with You for control. It feels like that sometime—flesh vs Spirit. I really want what You want. I Invite You In to quieten my soul. That is where I find healing.
As I Invite You In, Your still small voice ministers to and nurtures my heart.
Psalms 25:1 – To You, O LORD, I lift up my soul.
Romans 8:1 – THEREFORE, [there is] now no condemnation (no adjudging guilty of wrong) for those who are in Christ Jesus, who live [and] walk not after the dictates of the flesh, but after the dictates of the Spirit.
1 Kings 19:11-12 – And He said, Go out and stand on the mount before the Lord. And behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains and broke in pieces the rocks before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind; and after the wind an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake; And after the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire; and after the fire [a sound of gentle stillness and] a still, small voice.
Psalms 23:2-3 – He makes me lie down in [fresh, tender] green pastures; He leads me beside the still and restful waters. He refreshes and restores my soul (life); He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.
Psalms 138:8 – The Lord will perfect that which concerns me…
