𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐒𝐞𝐥𝐟-𝐒𝐮𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐩𝐬𝐞𝐝: 𝐍𝐨𝐰 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭?

“You’ve got this” is a common phrase meant to encourage our success. It can spur us on in certain situations when it comes from someone who believes in us. But what about ALL of the arenas of our lives?

As humans, created in the image of God, the reality is: we don’t “got” this! God never intended for us to live self-sufficiently. So, when we rely on our intelligence, experience, feelings, inner strength, level of education, and willpower—or lack thereof—all of this will one day collapse. At that point, many of us try harder to improve ourselves, only to find that this did not work either.

Let’s say it did in one area of your life that is important to you. The question you may need to examine is, “At what cost?” Did it harm your relationships? Did it make you miserable? Did your health suffer?

Can we prevent this? The likelihood of this is a big “Yes” if we live life according to God’s divine design.

Is there hope if we have already hit a wall? “Yes” to that too! That’s exactly what happened to me many years ago.

Here is the simple but profound truth.

For every believer in Christ, He came to live in you so he could love you from the inside and express Himself through you in every area of your life.

This is something every one of us should have been taught from the day we were saved and beyond! Were you? I have spoken to many groups of diverse sizes, small, medium, and large. Most who give feedback say they have never heard this explained so clearly.

Christ in you, loving you from within, and living through you is the central theme of the gospel! When we do not know this, we tend to live by the flesh in our attempts to please God in every area of our lives. When we do, though we will never do this perfectly, we continuously learn to depend on Him in us more and more.

Here is God’s exclamation point. The underline is mine.

I have been crucified with Christ, and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

Will you depend on Him this week to love you from within and to live through you?
