In my early 30s, I told Ellen one night as we were having pillow talk, “I’m doing everything I was taught to do as a Christian. I read my Bible and pray for an hour a day. I serve God and people. I memorize Scripture. I fast once a week. And I often share the gospel one-on-one. Yet, I’m miserable. So, if this is all there is to the Christian life, something is wrong, and I don’t know what it is.” I shared this when I was a pastor who was seminary-trained!
Inwardly, I was wondering where is the abundant life Jesus promised? Where is the freedom, joy, peace, and love of God? I also felt like David when he wrote Psalm 62:1, “You, God, are my God; earnestly I seek you; I thirst for you, my whole being longs for you, in a dry and parched land where there is no water.” That night, the room was dark, but my soul felt even darker.
How about you? Does it ever seem like there has to be more to the Christian life than you are experiencing? Or do you seem to keep struggling with the same issues repeatedly with no way to change? Or does it ever feel like you have hit a spiritual plateau?
I have some astonishingly good news if you relate to any of this. God has provided hope, a way forward, and a genuine version of the Christian life, which is the abundant life. I know because the Lord, in His faithful goodness, wanted me to see the answer to what I was missing, and He wants the same for you and anyone you care about.
That’s why I encourage you to join us at the Freedom Conference on Friday night and Saturday morning [May 17-18]. This transformative event, held entirely online, allows you to participate from the comfort of your home, regardless of location.
At the Conference, you will hear one of our gifted staff share these topics:
- Understanding the root of your struggles.
- No longer having to live by legalistic religious rules to please God.
- No longer fearing the loss of fellowship with God.
- Enjoying victory over emotional stress and frustrating habits.
- Walking daily with a deeper awareness of God’s unconditional love AND acceptance.
Please take time to attend. Invest in yourself so you can understand and experience the abundant life. And please invite someone you care about to attend as well. Here’s the link.
