Every one of these blessings we have received from our Heavenly Father in our salvation is directly related to our union with Christ. Forgiveness, identity, righteousness, grace and mercy; God’s life in us, freedom from the power of sin, freedom from the law, victory and eternal life; power to live like who we are in Christ, spiritual gifts enabling us to serve; intimacy with God, chosen by God and redemption are only a small evidence of our union with Christ.
This truth has given me such great joy recently. So much so, that when I lay down at night, I can’t help but think about it. In a sense, this is a double union. Why? Because Christ is in us and we are in Christ. Jesus, Himself spoke of this in John 14:20 when He promised the Holy Spirit would be given to every believer.
On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you.
I encourage you to meditate on this fantabulous reality that is true for you as well.
