At the end of this blog I will share two opportunities for you to grow in grace. First, let’s take a look at this cool story.
I was talking with young newlyweds who were beginning to grow in grace. He was on staff at our church and I knew that his backstory was full of worldly living before he met Jesus. In our conversation, she shared that her backstory was the opposite of her husband’s. She was saved early in life but grew up with strict legalism. The Holy Spirit gave me an encouragement to share with them. Ken, God’s grace will free you from worldliness. Jen, God’s grace will free you from legalism. They both smiled broadly with excitement.
Whether we struggle with sins of the world or legalism, growing in grace is God’s ultimate weapon against both. How do we know this? Here are a few Scriptures for us to mull over.
Grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ (2 Peter 3:18). Growing in grace is essential to getting to know Jesus in a deeper way.
For sin will have no dominion over you, since you are not under law but under grace (Romans 6:14). Clearly, grace is the weapon that defeats sins of the world and legalism, not law-keeping.
For from His (Jesus’s) fullness we have all received, grace upon grace (John 1:16). Jesus is and has always been 100% full of grace. He has lavished and continues to lavish His grace on us because of our union with Him!
What does it mean to grow in grace? It means we understand more and more from Scripture all that our Father did to us, for us, and in us, in Jesus Christ. A wonderful example of this is found in Ephesians 1-3 which tells us in glowing detail what God and His grace have done, not what we have done.
At Grace Life International, we are currently offering two big ways for you to grow in grace. One is the upcoming “God’s Best-Kept Secret Conference” I will be teaching based on my book. The second is our Advanced Discipleship Training On-Demand (ADTOD) which takes you into the deep waters of grace. If you want a quick start, sign up for my Conference, even if you have not read the book. If you are ready for the deep waters, sign up for ADTOD.
Let’s grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ together!
