A new year offers new opportunities to change! One of the most important things you can do is this. Challenge the thoughts you have about your relationship with God, and replace them with the truth. To start, let’s lay a foundation that we can build the truth on. Here it is:
You are always united with God. This comes from many Scriptures as a
believer in Jesus, but 1 Corinthians 6:17 says it clearly.
“But whoever is united with the Lord is one with him in spirit.”
Another way of saying this is that because Christ is in you and you are in Christ, all of these are true of you.
-I am as close to God as I ever will be. (I can feel closer at times, but I can’t get closer.)
-I am perfectly clean before God through eternal forgiveness.
-God will never punish me.
-God is in me to love me through an interactive relationship.
-God is in me to live through me to love people.
-God is in me to live through me to live like who I am in Christ.
-God accepts me and likes me.
-God delights in me.
-God enjoys being in me.
-God created me in Christ so he could do good works through me.
-God will never condemn me.
-God has a plan for my life regardless of my age.
-Jesus values me so much that he gave his life so he could live in me.
-I am not a sinner saved by grace. I am a saint who sometimes sins.
-I am a loving person in Christ.
-I am holy and righteous in Christ.
-I have purpose in Christ.
Why don’t you pray one or two of these each day for one week and see what changes Jesus might bring inside of you? I’ll join you on my end.
Also, if you or someone you know is ready for counseling, though we are currently seeing over 100 people per week. All of our counseling is online via Zoom, so it doesn’t matter where anyone lives.
