The Me I See Is the Me I’ll Be

The Me you see in your mind’s eye will determine the Me you will be in your everyday life. How do you know how you view yourself?

Imagine taking a selfie of yourself right now. Go ahead and take 5 seconds to do this. Next, come up with words to describe who you see. Those may be negative, positive, or a combination of both. Now, ask yourself this. “How do those descriptive words and feelings affect how I live my life?”

Hopefully, this will help you understand why you live the way you live day to day.

THE ME I SEE IS THE ME I’LL BE is definitely true!

That’s why it’s so crucial that every day we remind ourselves of what our Heavenly Father thinks of us. His opinion is the only one that counts and is better than we could ever imagine!

Here’s a fantastic truth that may surprise you, but it will also encourage you. He loves you just as much as He loves His Son Jesus! How do we know that? It’s because Jesus prayed that this would be true just before he died, and I’m pretty sure Jesus’s prayers are always answered!

Amazing! Right?

John 17:26 tells us that Jesus prayed this for His followers at that time and for all who would believe in Him afterward, like you and me.

I made your name known to them and will continue to make it known, so that the love you have loved me with may be in them and I may be in them.

In the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ, everything about us that was unlovable, God removed, and everything He loves was put in our new identity in Christ! You are just as lovable to God as His son, Jesus is!

Let’s all pray this often together this week. “Father, as one of your children whom you have made holy, righteous, clean, and blameless, I thank you that you love me just as much as you love Jesus.”
