Why The Wrath of God Is Not for Christians

One of the biggest misbeliefs among many Christians is that God will inflict His wrath on them now and in the future if they disobey Him. This causes people to live with a great fear of God’s punishment, both for this life and the one to come.

The gospel’s great news is that God’s wrath has been forever removed through Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection from those who are now His friends.

Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from the wrath of God through Him. For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life. Romans 5:9-10

Do you see how much God the Father loves us? When we do, it completely removes our erroneous fear of His angry punishment. 1 John 4:18 says it this way. There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves punishment, and the one who fears is not perfected in love. This does not refer to our perfect love for God but His perfect love for us.

God is at peace with you, and you are at peace with Him.

The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with you all. 2 Corinthians 13:14
